Tubes for Fender Deluxe Reverb

Era: 1963–presentPower: 22 W

The Deluxe Reverb is the most-recorded guitar amp in history — 22 W of singing 6V6 break-up, lush tube reverb, and just-enough headroom to keep pedals clean before the power section saturates. Swapping the 5AR4 for a 5U4G introduces more sag and a vintage-tweed feel.

Every socket in the Deluxe Reverb, with stock tubes, direct-swap alternatives, and rolling notes. Tube names link to dedicated specification pages.

Important: bias before you swap

Power tube swaps almost always require rebiasing — running a new quartet of 6V6 cold or hot will shorten tube life dramatically and can damage the output transformer. See the biasing guide and the troubleshooting guide before rolling tubes.
