The 4×10 blackface Super Reverb is Stevie Ray Vaughan's signature voice — the 40 W 6L6GC pair drives the four 10-inch speakers into a unique compressed mid-range that no 12-inch can replicate. Same preamp circuit as the Twin Reverb, half the power tubes, completely different feel.

Important: bias before you swap
Power tube swaps almost always require rebiasing — running a new quartet of 6L6GC cold or hot will shorten tube life dramatically and can damage the output transformer. See the biasing guide and the troubleshooting guide before rolling tubes.
